Your training matters to us

The Training Matters South-West Infographic below sets out why we believe that training really does matter.
Training should be a positive experience that has a lasting impact for those who undertake it both professionally and personally.
Training Matters South-West endeavour to deliver training that can achieve this because it is designed to suit the client’s wishes and meet their training demands.

We are approachable and open to develop the training we provide to suit your needs. Our training can be tailored to the requirements that you have, and we have the adaptability to act swiftly to training requests. We pride ourselves on our ability to communicate, respond to requests and keep clients informed of our training intentions.

Quality

Our First Aid for Mental Health Awareness courses are accredited by NUCO Training which is an approved centre with an Ofqual and SQA regulated awarding organisation – First Aid Awards. We are part of British Nordic Walking, and they are the only UK representative of the International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA).

Support

We provide training to support the needs and requirements of our clients but in addition we endeavour to be available after our training has been completed. Clients should feel that they can contact us for further advice or assistance as we believe in the importance of building a positive relationship with those we train.

Training Matters South-West is a small training company comprising of Andy and Sue Hodges. Andy and Sue are retired teachers who draw upon their teaching background to develop and deliver quality training and instruction. Currently Training Matters South-West offers training in First Aid for Mental Health Awareness and Nordic Walking although there are future plans to develop this repertoire to include:

  • Internet Safety training to support companies, charities, and schools with how to have an online presence that can be managed effectively.
  • First Aid Courses including First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid and Outdoor Emergency First Aid

Training Matters South-West is convinced that investing in training provides development opportunities for people giving them a feeling of wellbeing at work that can result in improved productivity. Investing in training for a workforce, community, social group, or class of pupils demonstrates a commitment to valuing people and empowering them to implement what they have learned in their everyday lives.

Training Matters South-West believes that training should be tailored to the needs of those who are being trained. Training materials are developed and adapted as required for each training session and we are keen to listen to our clients in order understand what they want. There is no one size fits all in our training and we pride ourselves on providing individualised packages.

What our clients say

Princess Yachts

Princess Yachts

Mental Health First Aider Course

I attended the one-day NUCO Mental Health First Aider Course with Sue in November 2021.
I requested the course not only as I felt it would enhance my role as a Compliance Instructor here at Princess Yachts but would also make me a more rounded employee to enable me to offer this service to a colleague in need. I really enjoyed the day and wish to use this opportunity to thank Sue for her work.

Farms for City Children

Farms for City Children

Mental Health training

Sue delivered 3 Mental Health training sessions for Farms for City Children. The sessions were insightful and thought provoking with good training materials and case studies and we left the sessions with a much better understanding of how to offer support and help.
